Brenda has lived in Kirk Langley since 1997. She is a non-practising Solicitor, having previously worked as a prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service for many years. Having retired from that career, she currently works part-time as a clerk, handling school admission appeals and is also a governor of a local authority-maintained nursery in Derby; the Central & Ashgate Nursery Federation.

She is a keen hiker and has not only walked all around the British Isles but also in the Himalayas. The environment is a key interest of Brenda's and she is a member and supporter of the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. She also chaired the Kirk Langley Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee, which brought our plan through from its inception in 2018 to its adoption in 2021.

Apart from walking, Brenda's hobbies and activities include cycling, painting and playing the guitar.

2020/2021 Brenda joined the council in May. She is part of the Planning Working Group and the Biodiversity Working Group.
